Graduated from “Colegio Internacional”, class of 1961. I enrolled in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. At the age of 19, I emigrated to the United States, settling in New York City, where I continued my studies at the Baruch School of Business, part of the City College of New York. In 1965, I married and changed my last name to Lowenthal. I became the mother of three children and am now the grandmother of five.

In 1966, my husband and I co-founded Educational Enterprises Inc., a charter flight company offering services to Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, in collaboration with the New York State Teachers Union. In 1971, we moved to Miami and shifted our focus entirely to promoting Paraguay. We received significant support and collaboration from companies that flew from Miami to Lima, Peru, and then directly to Paraguay via our airline, Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas (LAP).

In 1973, I was appointed Representative and General Manager of LAP. In 1977-78, my husband and I were invited to work with Paraguayan representatives in Washington, DC, to manage the governmental procedures required for the Paraguayan airline to establish service to Miami, while ensuring compliance with FAA and U.S. airline regulations.

In 1980, we opened Great Escape Travel Inc., and in 1989, I rebranded it as Evelina Travel Inc., always with the motto: “Paraguay is unique, and tourism is the gateway to the country’s economy. Let’s go to Paraguay!”

Soy exalumna del Colegio Internacional, promoción 1961. Ingresé en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. A los 19 años emigré a los Estados Unidos, a la ciudad de Nueva York, donde continué mis estudios en la Baruch School of Business, parte del City College de NY. En 1965 contraje matrimonio y cambié mi apellido a Lowenthal. Me convertí en madre de tres hijos y ahora soy abuela de cinco nietos.

En 1966, junto con mi esposo, fundamos Educational Enterprises Inc., una empresa de vuelos chárter a Europa, el Caribe y el Medio Oriente, en colaboración con la Unión de Profesores del Estado de Nueva York. En 1971 nos mudamos a Miami, donde comenzamos a concentrarnos exclusivamente en promover el Paraguay. Recibimos mucho apoyo y colaboración de empresas que volaban de Miami a Lima, Perú, y de ahí directamente al Paraguay con nuestra línea aérea, Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas (LAP).

En 1973 fui nombrada Representante y Gerente General de LAP, como es conocida. En 1977-78, junto a mi esposo, fuimos invitados a gestionar, con los representantes de Paraguay en la ciudad de Washington, DC, los trámites gubernamentales para que la línea aérea paraguaya pudiera llegar a Miami, cumpliendo también con los requisitos de la FAA y las aerolíneas americanas.

En 1980 abrimos Great Escape Travel Inc., y en 1989 cambié el nombre a Evelina Travel Inc., siempre con el lema: “Paraguay es único y el turismo es la entrada a la economía del país. ¡Vamos a Paraguay!”
